It’s no secret Trader Joe’s has a great wine selection. So, it comes as no surprise that their rosé assortment is especially lovely. With summer heating up, we’re reaching for refreshing beverages to enjoy by the pool or at the beach and into those fun summer nights. As a relatively new fan of this varietal, I’m sharing with you the best Trader Joe’s rosés you can drink all day.
Reluctant to Rosé All Day
Before I get into my specific favorites, I have to temper my opinions with this disclaimer: I avoided rosé for a long time. I was shocked when it started popping up on menus and in stores because the only pink wine, I was aware of was stored in a plastic bag, inside of a cardboard box and cost less than $11. When the rosé craze began, the only things that came to mind were the sugar hangovers and shame of college.
I was convinced that “rosé” was the same pink wine from my past, only expertly rebranded. White Zinfandel got a new publicist and underwent the ultimate rebrand, just like the Brussel Sprouts renaissance of 2013.
I share this with you to explain that I joined the “rosé all day” club reluctantly and (not-so) fashionably late. Now that I finally started to explore rosé, I’ve found several that I really like thanks to the great selection at Trader Joe’s! These dry rosés are my new favorite wines to reach for while poolside or prepping for a picnic; and on those summer nights when you’re not in the mood for white and it’s just too dang hot for red.
The Best Trader Joe’s Rosés
Aime la Vie: My favorite Trader Joe’s rosé! This wine is dry and light, yet you can taste the full body of its Syrah and Grenache origins. If you’re looking for a wine that will pair well with a summer meal, Aime la Vie is a perfect balance between the depth of a good red and the refreshing crispness of a white wine. A wonderful dinner rosé.
Freeda: The Freeda rosé stands out to me because of its peach notes. Typically, I would expect peach to indicate a sweeter flavor but, this wine is dry and bright. I love that I can taste the fruit flavors without the added sweetness. Freeda is a perfect rosé for brunch or lounging by the pool.
Les Portes de Bordeaux: If you like wine on the slightly sweeter side, this rosé is for you. Made from cabernet and merlot, The Les Portes nicely balances dryness and acidity with just a touch of sweetness. (I wouldn’t classify it a “sweet” wine by any means, but it is the sweetest of these Trader Joe’s favorites.) If you’re in the mood for “rosé all day,” this wine is your new go-to.
Da Luca (sparkling rosé): Y’all know how I feel about my bubbles! I love the Da Luca sparkling rosé because it’s the best of both worlds. You get the dry, fruity flavors of a rosé and the liveliness of a brut champagne. What’s not to love?
I’m always picking up new rosés to try while shopping at Trader Joe’s. I’ll continue to update this list with any new favorites or standout bottles. In the meantime, tell me which Trader Joe’s rosés are your favorites!
